Designs Inspired by Nature

The giant panda is among the world's most adored and protected rare animals. These peaceful, solitary creatures live in harmony with the world around them, taking only what they need to survive.

In the panda's contrasting black and white fur, I see the Chinese Yin and Yang - a symbol of the dualisms that exist to balance our world (such as light and darkfire and water, winter and summer, etc).

At first glance, these forces seem contrary to one another. In reality, they're complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world.

It's my goal to infuse this sense of balance and harmony into every thing I do, from the materials I use to create my books, to the information I document, curate and share. In short, I don't want to take away from the world; I want to give back to it.

Hopefully, you'll feel this when holding one of my handmade items. To learn more about the raw materials used in my works, feel free to read My Story.

Sending you lots of warm energy,

Misty
